My 5 Star review

I received the book from the touring host for an honest review.

This book was all that it promised to be, and I enjoyed every moment of it. This is a must read for every woman that has difficulty with understanding a man and getting the ultimate goal. A soul mate, friend and ultimately a life partner. With biblical principles that guide you in the form of Doc Reed to first of all "Love yourself first."
You need to understand how your own head, heart and body works before you can step into the world of relationships and the many challenges it brings. And to understand men and how they think is well described with colorful illustrations, it will remove the misconceptions that there is and make you aware of the "dangers" and "traps" in relationships. I am a firm believer in this myself, making sure my daughters knew whom they were before they get serious with a man. Doc Reeds input, dedication and examples using the Word of God as a guide shows a woman what is her worth and value and how she needs to see herself. His life choices in showing his own daughters the role of a man was priceless. This is not a preachy book that you will find in normal Christian writing, but a tongue in the chick book with relevant struggles shown in the light of the Word. The choice at the end is still yours.
I love the three friends, each holding their own, but yet steps in the trap of failed relationships time and again. Their struggles to learn that it is okay to hold back and not give it all away on the first date was emphasized throughout the book.
Fast paced, quirky and well written the author draws you into their lives, becomes engross with their choices and remain in control so that the emotional side of her not set her on a roller coaster path.
Although the book ended in a cliff hanger I felt that the message came crisp and clear not leaving me hanging, but I would love to read the rest of the three's lives as they continue on the journey of self discovery. As one person said this book is the black equivalent of Sex and the City, I must agree. It answers the difficult questions in an interesting every day setting as the plot unfolds and the story told.
